My daughter’s best friend had a sleep over, a 6 yr old boy, and it appears he had an accident on the air mattress. It’s not a regular air mattress though, it is one of those big twin deluxe air mattresses from Wal-Mart with a somewhat fabric/velvet-like topping. What would be the most effective way for me to go about cleaning it, sanitizing it, and getting the odor out? Thanks
Under that velevet toppind is a plastic like lining. The best way is to leave it inflated, take it outside and wash it with a big bowl of soapy water (laundry soap) and vinegar (just regular white vinegar) using a soft scrub brush. Then hose the soap off. Then take a five gallon bucket and put half a cap of fabric softener in it and pour it over the mattress and then let it air dry.
i think u should wipe it first and then keep the whole mattress out in the sun to dry for like a whole day or two… then u should spray some scent which wont be too strong to sleep on
Buy a new one. That’s disgusting.
look for a product called "nature’s miracle". it’s designed as a pet stain remover, and works wonderfully for removing dog urine stains and odor from carpet and fabric, so i don’t see why it wouldn’t work for human.
My advice? Febreeze that shish and flip over that beast to the other side and next time get that boy some pull ups!
If the fabric has no color then pour a mixture of clorox/water let soak in the mattress just like the urine brush away the stain if any since he’s only 6 and shouldn’t have powerhouse aroma yet.Check the bottom of the mattress make sure it didn’t go straight through let sit for 5 mins.then pour plain water on it Brush let dry………Good Luck that little boy must be heart broken………Blessed Mother’s Day..Blessings Yahoo
